First things first! WE HAD A BAPTISM! Christian got baptized! He´s a stud and he was super excited for his baptism. He got baptized on Saturday night, his mom made the trip from Valencia to come to his baptism and then Sunday to be with him. It was kinda sad because she was super sour towards him the whole time. Luckily he´s really good about it because he just explained it to her and bore a little testimony. She´s really... Sour. Haha so hopefully the baptism touched her heart.
Elder Stevenson was sick on Saturday and Sunday so I worked with Elder Williams on Saturday preparing everything for the baptism and Elder Stevenson went home and took a nap with the other missionary here who also has some health issues. So we spent all of yesterday in the piso and it was kinda boring. I made calls, studied, watched church movies and updated the Area Book... All of it. However my compy´s feeling a lot better now and we are ready to get to work today and just kill it this week!
I went and did splits with the elders who work right next to the temple last week. That was kinda eye opening. The elders there are good but it just made me sad because not everyone takes full advantage of their missions. I got the feeling that some of them were just there to complete the two years. However we´ve now seen and now we´re going to take action and help them out. It´s the largest ward in Spain with over 200 active members and yet they have some of the lowest numbers in the mission... So yeah something needs to change, and there are 10 missionaries there... Giddy Up! Getting to serve others is an adventure! :)
Elder Stevenson and I have been super blessed! The one guy with the girlfriend in London, Germán, has a baptismal date for the 21st of February AND his girlfriend wants him to get baptized here and she´s going to come and fly out to see it. So he´s diong super well, reading, praying and progressing super well. We´re probably going to see him baptized pretty soon and we´re all really excited for that.
Life´s good. We went to Toledo today and saw another cathedral and took LOTS of pictures so when I get a chord I´ll send them. I love the mission, my compy, and Spain... I´m sorry I´m probably not coming home anytime soon... Or ever... :)
Love,
Elder Hawks
