February 16, 2015

Oh goodness life is very good.

The mission´s been very good to us this week. I tried sending pictures but... It´s not working sorry... :/ OK well as I said that this week was really good to us. We found three new families and they all have a lot of potential! I don´t know how but we had a really good time finding. Well actually I do know. Our investigator German moved into a piso with a woman and her daughter and he invited them to sit in and listen to us last Monday. That lesson went super well cause luckily we started out with one of the bigger commandments, "the Law of Chastity." and the 17 year old girl absolutely loved it. So ever since then we´ve met with them 4 times, the 17 year old came to English Classes on Saturday and church on Sunday and she´s best friends with one of the girls in the ward. So we´re going to put a baptismal date with her tonight and try to teach her mom a little bit more. The mom´s name is Mirta and the daughter´s name is Mara. They´re from Paraguay!

We also found another family paraguana. His name´s Jonathon and her´s is Yamila. They´re a super young family with an adorable little kid named Santino. They are really trying to get closer to God, he´s been less active for a really long time and she´s not a member. So we´ve been working on them and we´re all just super good friends and it´s been really good to get to help them figure out their lives a little bit. We also met a Bolivian family who meet with the Jehova´s Witnesses but the dad likes us a lot more and he doesn´t want his family to be members of their church... :) So... veremos.

We´ve had really good weather lately. The weather´s been going up and hopefully it´s going to stay hot until I come home... So gross. We went to another cathedral today and I took some pretty apostate pictures. It´s funny to see how they really do have parts of the truth, but they don´t have the fullness. I´M SO GRATEFUL FOR THE RESTORATION. We also this morning and yesterday morning made waffles for breakfast. We found a waffle maker in our piso and starting freaking out so I grabbed your recipe, my companion cleaned out the waffle maker and we invited the other elders over to make some waffles! You have no idea what it´s been like to be without waffles for year and a half and then have them. I have literally been craving waffles since Villalba. So we splurged and now we are all very content missionaries. :)) (fat smiley face)

Chirstian´s doing really well. He started school back up and has been studying like a wild man ever since he´s started up again. So he´s been keeping himself busy and the only people he really hangs out with are members so he´s been really good. He got the Aaronic priesthood on Sunday and so can be ready to bless and pass the sacrament this Sunday! We keep visiting him as much as we did before and he´s starting to teach us all of the lessons again and he´s super smart so he does it perfectly! We´re really happy for him that he´s going to get married and then get sealed next year. I want to start saving to be able to come out and come to his sealing, but we´ll see with money.

Elder Stevenson and I are doing really well. There are a lot of missionaries going home on the 1st of March and I think our zone´s going to shrink a little bit. Elder Faussett´s going home along with Elder Williams, one of my really good mission friends. Elder Williams has almost talked me into to going into the FBI with him... I´m still thinking it over. ;) So we´re just trying to keep all of the missionaries motivated so that they can work as well as possible. Elder Dykes of the seventy is coming and doing a mission tour for us this week. Which means he´s going to train us and answer questions. It should be really good. President is really excited for it. Then after that we have Zone Training. Basically two and a half hours of my companion and I talking. However we´re going to try and make it a little more interesting and different. :)

Stay sweet family and I love the death out of you!

Love,
Elder Hawks
