Oh my goodness.
Haha we´re all kind of freaking out as a mission overall because if you saw earlier... We´re getting iPads! Weird... It´s going to be a big change and we´re going to have to change how we do some of the work here, and the work of salvation goes on...
Well we had an absolutely amazing week. We were, most importantly, able to put another baptismal date with a friend of a member! We´re working really hard with certain members of the ward and we started seeing success in this about a few weeks ago. Her name is Dina, the investigator, she´s 24, from Honduras, and super awesome. We were worried that she was listening to us for the wrong reasons but she´s really showing intress and she has really really good questions about the doctrine. She accepted the date last night. It was raining super hard and we were out in the street. :/ Haha but it was fun, we found the place, had a great lesson, really good hot chocolate and cookies and a BAPTISMAL DATE! Elder Brewer and I are really excited for her! Her date´s for the30th of May but we may push it up to the 23rd so that I can be there... :) Depending on if she´s ready or not. But she will be.
We did exchanges with some really awesome missionaries last week. I was with a missionary from Idaho that played soccer before the mission. It was weird cause we just started talking and I felt like I was talking to somebody on my team or something like that. It was good though and he´s a super good missionary. I could really feel the spirit every time he talked. It was powerful. It´s something that Elder Brewer and I want so we´re starting to focus on how we can always be worthy of having the spirit with us. Like every where in every moment. It makes the difference.
Speaking of life here. It´s been really rainy these past few days. Nobody was suprised though apparently there are always storms like this in April sooo the only ones caught off guard... the missionaries. However it was an experience that makes the mission the mission. Now I can tell my kids that I tried shouting people down on the street when it was pouring rain while I was on the mission. :) I know I say it a lot but I don´t want to come home. There are such awesome people here that need the gospel! Our investigators are some of the craziest, awesome and humble people you will ever meet and for that reason, and many others, I don´t want to go back.
My feelings are doing pretty well. I´m calm, working and my companion´s a really good help. He wants to get in good shape so it´s nice to have some one who´s willing to get up early with me to go running and get down and dirty with the work. We´re doing super well and I wish you all the best of luck back home! Enjoy the pictures from my birthday and I´ll be sure to take A LOT of pictures at the Real game... :)
Loves,
Elder Hawks
