Hola Familia Querida y espero que no perdida...
Ok first off thanks for all of the crazyiness done in helping with the application. Life´s approaching me too fast and I don´t like it however it´s what needs to be done.
So to answer some of your questions: There are some natives in the mission but not many. I just have never had the chance to have one as my companion. Yet. I don´t know if I´d like it or not because they have a harder time it seems with obedience. So we´ll see if I get lucky and have a native companion. There are a lot of americans or europeans (what I mean are white people) in the mission. As for Elder Dunn and Hermana DeWaal. Neither of them are in my zone. Madrid itself is divided into 5 zones with the little towns round about. So we´re the one with the temple in it! Yay temple!!!! By they way we found out that we get to go on the 25th of Febuary and for both Elder Stevenson and I it will have been a year since we´ve been. :) We´re excited. Elder Dunn is in a town outside of Madrid and Hermana DeWaal is alll the way up north. Like 7 or 8 hours in a bus.
Baptism Interviews are an adventure. They are really cool. It was a really cool we went to go and interview a cuban lady and her daughter the other day and like you said Mom it really is a cool experience. I interviewed the mom and Elder Stevenson intervied the daughter. So during the interview the mom just kept talking about her convertion and how commited she is to enduring to the end and helping out her daughter become a missionary. I think that interviewing people helps out with my testimony more than it does with theirs. Everybody has good stories about how they came to konw the gospel and being able to see the Lord´s hand in all that they´ve done.
This week has been really good. We´ve kept helping Christian with his date on the 7th and he´s super excited for his baptism. He planned everything out with his fiancĂ© and they are planning it for us which makes doing that a lot easier. I´m going to put a picture of him on the next email and send it with this letter, because they are such and awesome couple. He´s super smart and she´s super faithful to the church and to him. I´ll be sure to send you pictures next week.
Feelings... Yet again good. These past few days have been SUPER cold. But like cold. Last week it was starting to get warm and then two days ago. NOPE. Snow. It doesn´t usually snow in Madrid and it did! Hopefully by now it´s starting to go away but we´ll see. Elder Stevenson´s awesome and we´re doing great together. We set some new goals to help out the zone a little bit more. The ward with the most amount of members in Spain has the lowest numbers mission wise. There are a lot of really good missionaries there but they aren´t getting what they´re able to get so we´re going to try and get them a little more motivated. So we´re going to do that and let you know how it goes!
Thanks for all of your support and keep killing it back home fam!
Loves,
Elder Hawks
