Well there goes another week out here in Villalba. The "Ward Drama" luckily has died down. We were in consejo last week discussing what the ward mission plan would be for this year and the ward came up with the idea of 18 baptisms in this ward by the end of the year. With the growth this ward is experiencing we challenged them to push up their goals a little bit. One of the Hermanas serving with us said that they could easily have 36.... So some members took that as a question of their faith yeah yeah yeah. We´d been dealing with all of this crap until yesterday when in the meeting the bishopric decided on their own goal of 36 and that we all need to work together ward and missionaries to get this work down. Which is very true. Haha more than anything this experience has just helped me hold my tongue when I ought to and try not to say anything terriblly offensive.
However we have a pretty good start on the baptisms. One of the other elders´ investigators is getting baptized in the stake center down in temple square. So we´re super excited to take Dora and her daughter and show them the temple and a baptism because she hasn´t seen either! She´s super excited and just seeing how ready she is, is a real testimony builder for me. So Dora started receiving the missionaries about two years ago in Madrid then she went to the Dominican Republic for a few months and lost contact until we started teaching her. So she´s been preparing herself for about yeah two years. Proof that what we do has an impact on the future and that all of those investigators that we have had to drop could receive the missionaries again and be super ready like Dora!
Well something fun this week is that we had a "Tour of the Mission" We all went to the stake center by the Temple and Elder Teixeira of the seventy came and talked to all of us. It was super cool.... Haha no he showed us some ways that we can effectively contact people on the street and get good information. He´s a super nice man, but he is a member of the seventy and laid it down. He told us that with the new growth of missionaries there are high expectations of us and that our time here is very short. That we should be working as hard as we possiblly can for these next two years because it will never be the same after the mission. So I was a little motivated after and we went back to Villalba with the "ganas" to work as hard as possible. But.
We needed to catch a bus to Villalba first. When we were at the bus station we saw a double decker bus to Villalba. So. Of course we ran to it and got the front seats on the top level. They played some worldly music and I felt like I was on a mini roller coaster. So I enjoyed my little 20 minute vacation in the world during the ride.
Ok my feelings.... So every letter I am now going to write a solid paragragh on my feelings. I´m not depressed, mad, upset, or in shock. I´m physically feeling better and emotionally stable. My little cold or whatever it was went away some time during the week. Our weekly soccer is keeping me sane and I like my companion. He wants to work and luckily it´s contagious. I hope my family is ok. And that my brother feels bad that he can´t wait for me to get home before he gets married. Maybe the other one will. Anyways I´m happy and I have plenty of socks.
I love you all and yeah. Viva Real!
