Sorry this is a little late we were out and about all day today! So today for some p-day we went on a hike with one of our investigators and his big ol husky. It was a lot of fun. He showed us a few quarries where they take stones to build houses and stuff like that. Well and in these quarries there was a bunch of water and he was explaining to us how during the Summer people are always there, barbecuing and jumping off of these cliffs into the water below. It´s crazy they´re all like 40 m. (120 ft.) deep and with super sharp rocks at the bottom. So naturally I´m coming back in two years when I can swim! :)
Then we went to this monastery in Escorrial which was unfortunately closed but we went to another castle which was closed as well... Monday´s are great and all but EVERYTHING is closed... Bummer. Anyways now I´m at the Lau´s house and we´re going to try and set up a lesson with one of their friends.
Speaking of teaching that Columbian family. Well I don´t know their last name but their names are: Indari (mom), Elmer (dad), Stefani (daughter), and Aura (the grandma). They´re super awesome. Like we assigned them 3 Nephi 11 to read and the night before our return appointment they texted us saying that they read it three times and have all talked about baptism...................! :O You could say that we have found the golden family. So we taught them the ´´Restoración´´and we´re going to teach them again this Thursday and hopefully give them a date! We want to get them on the right track and get them to trust the other two missionaries here because Elder Fausett and I are both worried that these might be our last two weeks in Villalba.
So that guy that we went on the hike with this morning, his name is Gerardo. He´s a friend of Mirian and we´re teaching him and his wife Ibis. They´re really good because Mirian is living with them and reads with them. They have a date for the 16th of February the last day of the transfer.
We give English Classes as a way to meet people and kinda introduce them to the church and one of the other Elders here decided that we should do the same with guitar. He´s a stud at guitar and can play like no other. So you could say he inspired me. I bought a guitar and he and I are going to teach Guitar Classes as well as English Classes. It´s actually a really good idea because we´ve been able to get the attention of a lot of people. Until we start he´s giving me private lessons to help teach the people who come.
In other words this week has been really good for us. We´ve been finding people, four of our investigators have dates to get baptised, we´re being creative and finding people and we´re happy. The key to happiness I´ve discovered is exactly what Gordan B. Hinckley´s father said to him, ´´Forget yourself and get to work.´´ Whenever I´m thinking about the people, the work, or most importantly the Savior, I´m not thinking about myself and it just makes me happy!
Love you all and thank you for all of the support!
Love,
Your Favorite Missionary :)
