Well we had an interesting week to say the least! Last P-day I forgot to tell you but we went to Segovia. We spent the day up there doing stuff with Elder Smith. He´s serving up there and this is his last transfer before he gets shipped back home to Canada. So we went on a hike and just kind of enjoyed our free day together.
Ok. We do splits with the District leader or his companion at least twice every transfer. One time the District Leader comes to our area (up one floor) and then the other we go to his area (down one floor). Something funny (well funny for me) was that the week before this last we did regular splits with the other elders. Then on last Thursday my companion and our District Leader were both feeling really sick. So I went on splits with District Lord´s companion while our companions stayed in the piso and ate chicken noodle soup. Let´s just say I´m a great companion and I made the two sickies some grilled cheese and tomato soup for lunch that day.
Then we had a FANTASTIC baptism for Dora and her daughter! It was probably one of the best baptisms I´ve yet to see. They asked me to baptize them and Elder Hendricks to confirm them. Dora´s daughter Christal is the cutest girl you´ll ever meet, and during pictures right before the baptism she kept grabbing my hand and giving me hugs, and right as she gave me a hug during a picture President and Sister Jackson walked in. Haha it was a classic awkward missionary moment for me. Anyways they were baptized and confirmed and are now some of the newest members of the church! We´re going to try to start teaching Dora´s son and her boyfriend so we´ll see how everything goes with them.
After her baptism on Saturday and after guitar class we went outside to go buy some things to make Banana Bread. Outside there was this girl we met on the street and two Bulgarian guys. So naturally we started talking to them and then one of the guys started talking to us in English about some really interesting and important stuff. Aliens. I don´t know what it is but being missionaries we attract every weirdo out there. They flock to us. We weren´t in a hurry or anything so I just thought, "well we´ll just see where this goes." Yeah well he started to talk about Area 51 and this place called the "Deep Web" That when we use Google we only use 30% of the internet and that on the "Deep Web" you can do all of the super illegal and interesting stuff. Basically we nicely shut him down and invited him to English Class the next Saturday.
Emotions: It´s been a pretty stable week. I haven´t had any emotional break downs on the mission yet so I think I´m doing pretty well. There are always really hard days and super good days but nothing too emotionally scaring. Well yesterday we were walking and some guy tried reaching for my backpack but once I looked at him nothing else happend. He just started to say really weird stuff in spanish and then walked away. So I´m doing well.
Last night we had that interesting experience but other than those few things this week was pretty normal. I hope everything and every one is doing well back in the good ol 801. Keep it real I love all of you and the church is true!
Love,
Elder Hawks el espaƱol
