Mama,

Crazyness this week. OK so as you saw I´m still with Elder Fausett and still in Villalba! Absolutely nobody changed this transfer. Haha if anything that just made me more nervous about the next one! I´m excited though because we now have the opportunity to work hard for six more weeks with the investigators we have and try to find more for the next missionaries to come here. This will be his fourth transfer here so six months... long time! The mission is weird because I´m super new and yet I´ve already seen two of my friends go home and yeah the time is flying.

So with transfers we were in a trio with either Elder Day our new DL or Elder Smith, our old DL in Segovia. I really enjoyed the time with Elder Smith because he goes home on April 1st and since he´s not DL we won´t go on anymore intercambios together. Mission life.

So this week here has been full of festivos. New Year´s Eve was fun. We were able to meet with Aida and Fermin and spend a little time with them then we went to the Lau´s again for a big family dinner with Ezra and Monica´s family. We all shared a scripture about the life of Christ then we ate a TON of food. Potatoes, sausage, lamb, rice with peanuts, chicken, and octopus! Octopus isn´t bad it was just cold and really chewy. Ezra and Monica´s kids loved it. Strange. Then we may have been a little naughty and stayed until they ate the twelve grapes and midnight but when we told our District Leader he said don´t worry about it! So I repented yesterday and am moving on! Oh so they eat twelve grapes during the twelve chimes at midnight here. It´s a tradition that apparently they´ve done for a long time. So we did that and then left right after and heard little fireworks going off until about 4 in the morning. The next day there was literally nobody in the street and nobody wanted to meet.  Haha International Hangover Day I guess.

Then Yesterday was el Día de Los Reyes. Which is a lot like Christmas Eve here. We went to Monica and Ezra´s house for lunch and we ate some super good Mexican food and they showed us a Roscon. A roscon is like a circle cake with cream in the middle. (Kinda like a sandwich) They only eat them the 5th. In the middle there´s a toy and a bean. Whoever finds the toy wins and whoever finds the bean has to pay. There was a big parade down Calle Real here and then this morning the 3 Kings came and delivered presents to all of the kids. Haha strange but I liked it!

Well I´ve wasted enough of your time. So to sum up the rest of the week. We went on a hike in the fog, played basketball in the rain and are getting ready for another baptism! The father of a family that was just baptized decided that he wants to as well so we´re pretty excited about that!

Love you all and thank you for all of the letters, packages and support! Os quiero y felices festivas.

Cordially,
Elder Español
